The philosophy of “Student Positioning” was developed in response to the rising
cost of higher education and the increasing use of enrollment management
principles. Enrollment Management is a process used by the colleges to balance
their enrollment based on factors including, but not limited to:
- academic achievement
- special talents / athletic ability
- financial ability / need
- ethnic background
- student's region of the country
Once we understand the enrollment managment principles of a college, we are able
to gauge the likelihood of the student's acceptance into that school as well as
the amount of aid (loans, scholarships, grants, etc.) the school will likely
offer. Being able to identify upfront the schools who are more likely to grant
acceptance and aid to your student makes for a more successful college search
while maintaining greater financial stability for the family.
Some of our services that focus on the student's academic concerns include:
- providing the student with an aptitude test to search for possible career
avenues and therefore appropriate majors to pursue. This step can possibly
reduce the overall cost of a higher education by making a bachelor's degree
attainable in four years.
- providing an interactive “coaching” session between the family/student and an
educational counselor. Using the family's criteria, we help a family/student
pick appropriate colleges.
- guidance in high school resume building
- guidance in communication with admissions
- essay writing consulting with access to our College Essay Clinic
- managing student's expectations
In identifying the student's academic needs and
family's financial concerns and matching them with the right school, we help lay
the foundation for a successful college experience.
