The goal of our program is to assist the families in finding the college that is
the right fit for both the student and the family. The "right" college for the
student is one that provides the challenge and opportunities within the selected
field of study as well as meets many of their personal criteria. The "right"
college for the family is one that fits within the family's financial
parameters, not depleting all their financial resources and retirement savings.
It can be a difficult balance for families to manage, so we are happy to apply
our experience and skills in assisting the families in managing their
expectations and finding the right college!
The portion of our services where we manage the student's expectations is the
Student Positioning.
Financial Guidance is where we manage the
family's expectations of what they can afford without putting their life savings
at risk.

When should we start?
Too often families come to us late in the process when everyone is
being rushed by all the deadlines to allow us to help as much as we could have,
both academically and financially, if they had come to us sooner. Although we do
help many seniors and their families, we like to begin working with the families
at least by their junior year of high school. This allows time for the families
to visit the schools on their list and work less under the stress of looming
deadlines. Ideally, the families come to us in the student's freshman or
sophomore year. This allows us more time with students for SAT/ACT/PSAT test
preparation, school and career selection, guidance on appropriate high school
academic path (AP courses, etc.) as well as more time to help the families with
aligning their assets and preparing financially.
