The most exciting and stressful time for the student is waiting for their
acceptance letters. It's great when the acceptance letters start arriving.
Normally, though, the acceptance letter does not contain the acceptance awards
information. At this point, it's difficult for most families to make a choice
without knowing what it will cost them.
The award letters normally come later, well after the acceptance letters. The
award letter lists all the various types of aid that the college is offering the
student in reducing the cost of attendance. This would include all scholarships,
grants, federal student loan (subsidized and unsubsidized), work-study program,
parent loans, etc.
Sometimes one offer doesn't stand out from the others. Also, in addition to
tuition, room and board, there are other costs such as books, fees,
transportation, etc. associated with attending a particular school. We help
families sort through these costs, analyze and compare their acceptance awards;
uncovering the real cost of attendance.
